Our team rider Maurizio Moritz participated at the EFPT 2022 in Austria

The opening of the European Freestyle Pro Tour (EFPT) 2022 took place from April 27th until May 1st in Neusiedl am See, Austria. We talked to our team rider Maurizio Moritz and asked him a few questions on how he experienced the event.

Surfbent:
What makes this event so special?

Maurizio:
The special thing about this event is the participation of numerous international windsurfing professionals. You have the unique opportunity to prove your skills in front of a home audience and to compete with the best in the world. The "European Freestyle Pro Tour" is one big family, so the atmosphere among the riders off the water was very relaxed and familiar. The event was very well organized from the beginning and the event area was very diverse, so there was something for everyone.

Surfbent:
What did you like most about it?

Maurizio:
I especially liked the fact that I was able to participate in an international event at my home spot for the first time. The feeling of being cheered on by numerous spectators is impossible to describe. I won't forget that in a long time. I especially enjoyed the new Tow-In format. This year, a new format called "Trick for Cash" was introduced, where the riders got cash put into their neoprene for each completed move.

Surfbent:
What was your favorite move that you jumped?

Maurizio:
My favorite move that I jumped was the "Switch Kono". The power during this move is incredible. Due to the light wind, it was very difficult for me to perform this move perfectly, but I tried my best.

Surfbent:
Is there anything else you would like to say?

Maurizio: I am very happy that I participated in this event this year. I become more confident with every participation in a competition. Through my previous participations, I could now fully concentrate on windsurfing without any nervousness.
